IMHO - The words you highlighted appear to me to be the result of a lazy typist. When you see people using the word their when it should be spelled there would be more convincing to me that the person was grammatically challenged. Spell checker could easily have caught the misspelled word.

i've seen them come on here and their spelling is very poor.

Buying a new Home...I hope...dream

we have built over 150,000 in equity in the last 3 years, so it looks like my dream home might be a reality.
this is something i would never have thought of in my earlier jw days.

We have built over 150,000 in equity in the last 3 years, so it looks like my dream home might be a reality. This is something I would never have thought of in my earlier JW days. We bought a small home like a good JW years ago and the property has just skyrocketed.
We are just beside ourselves that this just might be a reality. Some people might say we are being materialistic but what an investment it would be.
Some of the friends I confided in have already been putting me down behind my back. Like we dont need a house that size and a fireplace is just another thing to clean and blah blah.
Funny how just a handful of years ago we were feeling guilty for buying a little home in this system of things.

I believe that 7 year is the number but you may want to keep records for 10. The IRS can do an audit up to seven years but I believe a creditor can hold a claim for up to 10 years (state to state may vary).
I file and save most of everthing to account records, warrantees etc. I had co-signed on a loan in 1987. The person defaulted and around 1988 it went to court and I had to pay the entire loan amount because that is what a co-signer is for in the first place. To pay the loan should the primary signer fail. It sucked big time but what could I do. Anyway over the next year I paid the loan and finally received my paperwork indicating the amount was paid in full and satisfied.
In 1997 I was contacted by a bank who bought the bank who bought the other bank and so on. They said that I owed some ridiculous amount of money plus 9 years interest. Apparently bank No. 1 or No. 2 did not keep very good accounting.
The point is, if I did not have a copy of my payment stubs and a copy of the final paid in full satified letter, I might have had to re-pay that amount.
This also happened to an attorney friend of mine on a $10,000 loan. He kept all his files too. I wonder if this was just another scam by the banks thinking....wow how many people can actually prove they paid all their payments.

What Brand of Toothpaste do you use?

Yeah Blondie I can see the point. But the scriptures claim that they were looking at the women and saw that they were beautiful and this is what inspired them to have sexual relations. Maybe they wanted beautiful children and they turned out to be hideous monsters. I dunno
Plus, I was always taught that demons were sex crazed.

Number chapter 31 when Moses was charged to take vengence against the Midianites for having sexual relations with the Jewish men, thus losing favor with Jehovah. I mean, the men could not keep it in their pants and um...(why is it always the womans fault?) Anyway, the scripture continues at verse 17 where the men returned from battle with the women and children. Moses ordered the men to kill the baby boys and their mothers (non-virgins) but keep all the virgins so they could have sex with them later. Wasn't that how they got in trouble in the first place?
Angels having sex with humans. Why would a spirit creature designed to be sexless want sex? Were they created with a sexual desire and told no...you cant have any?

Its amazing how a person can just believe in something without question. When I studied, I questioned things but I was only provided with biased WT rhetoric.
I am glad to hear also that you did something besides work as a janitor or window washer. I heard some are starting to move towards the great career opportunities of landscaping.

I love that example of the good Sumaritan. He was the one considered of the wrong or misled faith and he was the one helping, while God's (Judean) people walked by the poor guy.
Most JWs are so busy doing 5 meetings a week, field service and study. There is no time to devote to anything else other than what the WT society says you can do. I also find the attitiude of most JWs to be of rude, angry frustration.
A recent JW acquaintence of mine was relating to me a field service experience this morning. She came to the door of a handicapped woman of only one leg, in a wheelchair and in need of emergency medical care for her other leg. My friend called 911 and had her put in the hospital (being a good Sumaritan) and proceeded to ask some of the other sisters in her hall if they would be interested in helping her with cleaning the woman's house and providing some minimal care on her return home (maybe a dish or just a hello). Each sister respectfully declined to provide even minimal assistance. What wonderful christian love. I think they are only riding the wave of what they believe is the road to self preservation.
